DENUNE BEGINS AS OHIO WILLOW WOOD CLINICAL DIRECTOR

Jeff Denune, CP, LP, has been appointed as the Clinical Director of Prosthetics at Ohio Willow Wood, beginning September 1, 2006. With this appointment, Ohio Willow Wood also announces that Raymond Francis, CP, LP, will step down as the company’s Chief Prosthetist.

Denune has twenty years experience in the orthotic and prosthetic industry, including his role the last two years as Ohio Willow Wood’s Educational Prosthetist. In his educational role, Denune has trained practitioners from around the world at the company’s learning center, The Summit. He has also worked on a limited basis with the research of new prosthetic devices and CAD functionality. Denune will continue to work with customer training and support while expanding his role with product development.

“This is an exciting avenue to continue clinical testing of new and developing prosthetic products and technology,” said Denune. “I’m looking forward to my expanded interaction with our test patients and engineers as we work together to create the best products possible for amputees.”

Denune has focused his past experience on lower extremity prosthetics and CAD technology. He is well-versed in maximizing the benefits of the OMEGA® Tracer® System to create successful solutions for amputees. Denune entered the field as a technician and expanded his clinical training and knowledge through years of working with amputees of all types. His experience has gained him a thorough understanding and knowledge of prosthetic patient care.

Raymond Francis has worked with Ohio Willow Wood since 1968 through his patient care facility in Norfolk, VA, and he became the company’s first Chief Prosthetist in 1997. Using his 40 years of experience, Francis helped establish Ohio Willow Wood’s on-site patient testing program in which new products and product refinements could be tested before being offered to the orthotic and prosthetic market. Francis has also been extensively involved with practitioner training and support. Francis definitely plans to continue contributing to his chosen field.

“My hope is that I can continue to give back to the prosthetics industry that has been so good to me and can continue helping other prosthetists,” said Raymond Francis. “I’m looking forward to having a more relaxed daily schedule, but I also plan to be available to help other practitioners when they feel my experience can benefit their amputee care.”

“Raymond Francis has been a key part of Ohio Willow Wood’s successful testing program for many years. He helped to create a first-class clinical testing program that was instrumental in the development of products like the Carbon Copy® and Pathfinder® series of prosthetic feet, and many of the Alpha® Liner related products. Raymond also assisted in the enhancement of the OMEGA Tracer System,” stated Robert E. Arbogast, President of Ohio Willow Wood. “Raymond has long been a personal friend and will always have a special place in the hearts of all of us here at Ohio Willow Wood. We all wish him the very best in this next stage of his life.”
