OHIO WILLOW WOOD EXPANDS TRAILBLAZER FOOT LINE

Practitioners and amputees desiring a low-profile foot with a built-in multiaxial ankle that provides high-activity performance now have a new solution. Ohio Willow Wood’s Trailblazer MA foot takes the original Trailblazer foot to the next level of motion and performance.

The Trailblazer MA differentiates itself from the original Trailblazer by having a multiaxial ankle. The foot and ankle combination allows for exceptional performance and stability on various types of terrains. The Trailblazer MA includes the Compound Spring System which delivers a more effective toe spring design and enhances durability. Together, the spring system, the composite materials, and the design of the foot and ankle provide increased deflection and energy return.

The opportunity to customize the Trailblazer MA has been expanded as well. Like its predecessor, the Trailblazer MA’s PerforMax Heel feature allows for three heel spring options: soft, medium and firm. Practitioners can gauge which heel spring is right for patients based on patient weight and activity level. In addition, the Trailblazer MA offers practitioners the opportunity to customize the amount of ankle movement permitted by the foot. The diameter of a unique Flexion Ring increases or limits the motion of the foot’s ankle. Three Flexion Rings, small, medium and large diameters, are included with every Trailblazer MA. The Flexion Rings are also available individually or as a kit.

The Trailblazer MA foot is light weight (460g) and has a minimum clearance of 8.95 cm. The Trailblazer MA is competitively priced, has a 36-month warranty from purchase date, and has a patient weight limit of 250 pounds. A Spectra sock and unisex, high-activity foot shell are also included with every foot.

The Trailblazer utilizes U.S. Patent 6,719,807 and EP Patent Application 01303759.3 under license from Chas. A. Blatchford & Sons Ltd.
